Brian R. Tenney

Brian Tenney has been serving older adults for more than 20 years, from the time he graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health Policy and Administration. His diverse and accomplished leadership experience involves being the Executive Director of a not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community in Williamsburg, VA. He also has been the Regional Vice President of Operations for multiple for-profit, post-acute care facilities after starting his career as the Administrator of post-acute care facilities.
Tenney’s experience as Licensed Nursing Home Administrator is valuable in today’s retirement communities as healthcare is an important and ever-changing part of the continuum of care. Each level of living at Westminster at Lake Ridge allows residents to maintain their lifestyle and maximize their independence.
Tenney, born in Alexandria, Virginia, is pleased to be returning to Northern Virginia. He is a husband and father of two boys who enjoy outdoor activities. Tenney values the opportunity to be a member of civic organizations and a part of the community of which he lives and works.
Director of IT
Dan is the Director of Information Technology and is responsible for all the computer and servers for the staff at Westminster at Lake Ridge, as well as any technical decisions that need to be made. Dan likes the environment at Westminster, staff and residents make Westminster a pleasurable place to work. When Dan is not working, you can find him playing sports, a few of his favorites include golf, softball and tennis.
Belva joined Westminster at Lake Ridge after serving as the Director of Chaplaincy at a regional hospital for almost ten years. She is an ordained minister and a board certified chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains. She serves on board certification committees and mentors chaplains. Belva earned a Master's of Divinity degree with honors from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. Following graduation, she successfully completed nine units of Clinical Pastoral Education at the University of Virginia Health System. She served three years in Moscow, Russia and five months in Gorlitz, Germany as a missionary associate. She enjoys singing and playing the trumpet in various churches, hospitals, nursing homes, and prisons throughout the United States and overseas. Born in Charlottesville, Virginia, Belva is married and has three grown step-children and one grandson. She enjoys biking, hiking, kayaking, knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her family and friends.
Lynda Fullem graduated with honors from Marymount University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Following graduation, she spent over 30 years as a Senior Analyst in the Federal Government. Her civilian career included assignments with the Department of the Navy, the Office of Personnel Management, the Department of the Army, Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service, and the United States Marine Corps. In January 2015, Fullem retired from Marine Corps Systems Command, receiving the Meritorious Civilian Service Medal. Following retirement from Federal Service, she was a Substitute Teacher for Prince William County Public Schools, teaching both general education and special education in elementary schools throughout the County. Fullem joined Westminster at Lake Ridge in September 2016.
Fullem, born in Albany, Georgia, traveled with her family throughout her Dad’s Marine Corps career. The family settled in Woodbridge, where she calls home. She is the proud Mom of two adult daughters, Megan and Kelly. She is a Lake Ridge resident and spends her free time as an animal rescue foster Mom with Old Dominion Boston Terrier Rescue (ODBTR), hiking, walking her three dogs, watching Pittsburgh Steelers games, and spending time with family and friends.
Director of Dining Services
Mehdi Has been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, from the time he graduated with a master's degree in hospitality management from the Moroccan Institute Of Technology. His multifaceted leadership experience encompasses a diverse management career including marketing, business development, operations and dining services, both nationally and internationally in institutions such as the international monetary fund, luxury hotels, consultancy firms and most rewardingly retirement communities such as Westminster at Lake Ridge. Mehdi brings his global perspective to the dining experience at Westminster at Lake Ridge.
Director of Human Resources
Allen Harris graduated from James Madison University with honors. He double majored in Psychology and Sociology completing course work in Industrial Organizational Psychology. After several years in the Human Services field, Allen transferred his skill set to the Human Resources arena. He has worked with for-profit, non-profit, federal government contractors and international companies. After several years of running his own Human Resource consulting firm, Allen returned to his roots, giving back the community and making a difference in the lives of others- providing support for numerous causes such as substance abuse treatment, domestic violence shelters, hunger campaigns and traumatic brain injury treatment. He has volunteered with organizations such as Special Olympics, World Fire and Police Games, The United Way and Bikes for the World. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of West Springfield. Away from the office, Allen loves to be outdoors with his family. He has great affinity and respect for wildlife and nature. You will most likely find him golfing, hiking and spending time with his wife and two young boys.
Director of Sales
Erin graduated with honors from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor's of Science in Communications and Sociology. She went on to work for an international public relations agency where she concentrated on Public Affairs and Media Relations. Clients included the Social Security Administration, National Air Traffic Controllers Association, American Red Cross, and Homeland Security. Erin parlayed her experience into her next roles – first as the Marketing Assistant and then a Sales Counselor for Ingleside at King Farm, a sister community of Westminster at Lake Ridge, where she worked for six years. She spent the next three years working for a retirement community in DC, where she was the Marketing & Sales Director. She is an honorary member of a National Communication Association, Lambda Pi Eta, and Alpha Iota Chapter, and has served on multiple senior advocacy boards – including the Alzheimer's Association, Walk to End Alzheimer's. She lives in Fairfax with her husband and enjoys reading, home projects, and spending time with her family and friends. At Westminster at Lake Ridge, Erin finds incredible joy in learning about the lives of those who both live at the community and those interested in making the community their new home.
Health Services Administrator
John Mitchell has been managing and directing healthcare communities for over two decades in and around the Northern Virginia, Washington DC metropolitan area. Born and raised in Hampton, Virginia, he went on to James Madison University where he graduated with a Bachelors in Public Administration. John furthered his education at Capital Bible Seminary where he holds a Masters in Biblical Exposition. John has been an advocate of quality care and agent of change leading numerous organizations into the subacute market and raising their clinical capabilities. This quest for excellence in care and service delivery is fueled by the desire to ensure each resident reaches their highest level of ability. John is a husband and father of two who loves to participate in numerous community, civic, and religious organizations.
Director of Nursing
Theresa's passion for health care began at a young age volunteering at the local hospital where she found her love for nursing and making a difference in people's lives. She has been a Registered Nurse (RN) for over 25 years and brings with her exceptional leadership, clinical expertise and a passion for working in the Healthcare field. She has a wide range of experience including Skilled Nursing, Long Term Care, Assisted Living, Sub-acute and working in hospital settings. Before joining the Westminster at Lake Ridge community she served in positions of great responsibility, such as a Certified Nurse Assessment Coordinator, Nurse Manager, and as an Assistant Director of Nursing. Theresa enjoys spending her free time on the water sailing and boating.
Lauren is actively involved in the financial life of Westminster at Lake Ridge, from writing and presenting reports to residents and other stakeholders to developing the annual budgets. Before coming to WLR in October 2016, Lauren was a Senior Audit Associate at CohnReznick LLP in Baltimore, MD. As a Senior Audit Associate, Lauren was responsible for providing for-profit and non-for profit developers, public housing authorities, state housing credit agencies, and investors with audits of financial statements performed using generally accepted auditing standards. Lauren holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Accounting from Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD.
Director of Resident Services
A native of Pennsylvania, Dee Pekruhn has worked in the field of aging services for ten years, and has served in the position of Director of Resident Services for seven. She began her career as an Activities Coordinator in Assisted Living at another Virginia CCRC, and "just fell in love with the job!" Dee completed a Master of Business Administration degree from the George Washington University and earned a Virginia Nursing Home Administrator's license in 2013. This past October, she also graduated from the highly-regarded LeadingAge Leadership Academy, a leadership development program through our national association! Dee especially enjoys building community partnerships and creative arts programs for older adults, and in her last position she successfully wrote, received, and administrated a $17,000 Fairfax Arts Council Grant to pilot a Senior Arts Institute in Fairfax County. In her free time, Dee loves to be outdoors, and just this summer started learning how to "SUP" or Stand Up Paddleboard.
Director of Facility Services
After 4.5 years in honorable service to the United States Marine Corps, Rob began a career in the construction industry. He first started as a carpenter and quickly grew to project manager. Following his completion of a Business Management Degree from the University of South Florida, Rob operated his own construction business in Orlando, Florida. Before coming to Westminster at Lake Ridge, Rob worked as the Director of Plant Services for a CCRC in Longwood, Florida. He is a certified building contractor for the state of Florida as well as a Class A contractor in the state of Virginia. Rob spends most of his free time with friends and family and with his two daughters who are the light of his life. He loves to travel, watching sports, playing poker and helping people.
