Six Dimensions of Wellness: Social Wellness
Total wellness involves more than just physical health. A state of well-being involves multiple factors that take into account our lifestyle and interaction with the environment that surrounds us. Achieving total wellness is an ongoing process that enables us to achieve our full potential and highest quality of life.
At Westminster at Lake Ridge, we promote the Six Dimensions of Wellness. This holistic model, developed by Dr. Bill Hettler, a cofounder of the National Wellness Institute, includes Spiritual, Social, Emotional, Vocational, Intellectual and Physical Wellness. Westminster at Lake Ridge Team Walks for Alzheimer's Awareness

Exercise at the right time can boost your memory
We all know exercise is good for our bodies, and new research is showing that aerobic exercise—the kind that gets you breathing hard and your heart pumping—can reinforce learning and play a role in storing information in long-term memory.
A recent study at Radboud University in The Netherlands and the University of Edinburgh found that exercise performed four hours after a learning task boosted the subjects’ ability to remember the learned material. Read Full Entry
